Made out of aluminum and coupled with an air intake vent, the hood on the Type R was carefully crafted to reduce weight and increase air flow to the turbocharged engine so you can enjoy peak performance.

Log Mode
To defeat your lap times, you must know your lap times. Data Log Mode uses the onboard computer to keep an accurate record of your lap times, while the Performance Monitor records detailed information about your vehicle. Analyze your digital playback with LogR™ and master the art of racing.

High scores aren’t just for racing games. The LogR™ app’s Auto Score function monitors braking, acceleration, and steering data from the onboard computer on your Type R. It then generates a “driving smoothness” score using proprietary algorithms developed by Honda with the help of professional Honda drivers. The Civic Type R comes equipped with advanced front airbags as well as side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor system designed to deploy the side curtain airbags if a rollover is detected.
