Otesha
Otesha means "reason to dream" in Swahili, and the group bearing this name has been created by youth to enable and empower young Canadians to take action towards a sustainable future. It is based on the belief that there are alternatives to over-consumption and that each of us has the opportunity to have a positive impact, every single day.
In 2003, Honda Canada was the anchor funder of the Otesha Project. Today, Honda provides two Civic Hybrids to support Otesha's tours across the country. The project's award-winning education programs use theatre, multi-media and storytelling to engage a wide range of audiences, and have reached over 70,000 people to date.
